a big thank you to and his step-by-step tutorial of 17 layers.
my WIP:   of about 12 layers

i finally get over my fear and started oil painting in layers. because of time pressure and a deadline (its a present which i personally hand over soon) i didnt manage to go through all the 17 layers. unfortunatelly i had to speed up the process and on the top of that i didnt calculate all the time for drying very well. but all in all it was a really great experience and it opend a whole other dimension of painting with all its almost boundless possibilities. there is certainly a potential of getting addicted to this kind of adding one layer after the other to achieve a better result in tansitions or brightness of the color with all its vibrant shades.

as i am working with water-soluble-oils (branded COBRA i highly recommend) i add the suitable painting mediums for getting oil'er from one layer to another. that was also a big challange to me. never done this befor and was not really conscious what i've been doing. but well, there is no other way to get own experience as to learn and to grow while doing...

and please, dont expect an exact copy - cut some details here and there and finally speed the detail-layers up to 1 out of 4   also didnt manage to get that great 'real-look' of the tutorial with the really excellent color-shades and the incredible condensing of the waterdrops   i did my best in this stage of my artistic journey. regardless of all that small insufficiencies i am very confident with the result and hope it will appeal the same way to my presentee [...and it already did ]
